AI consultancy
AI consultant for Sussex & Surrey businesses
Independent AI consultancy for owner-managed firms — measure first, build only what the measurement justifies, own what you paid for. Based in Horsham, West Sussex.
Most businesses do not need an AI strategy. They need somebody to look at where the week actually goes, say which parts of it software could take on, and be honest about which parts it could not. That is what this is.
How the work runs
- A free fifteen minutes. Enough to work out whether there is anything here worth your money. Sometimes the answer is no, and you get told that.
- The Operations Audit. Fixed price. We measure where the hours go, rank what is worth fixing, and write it down. You keep the report whoever you hire afterwards.
- The build. Fixed price, quoted from the audit rather than estimated. You own the result outright, source code included and documented.
- Cortex, if it fits. Our private AI appliance, from £4,950 installed. Only when the documents justify it.
- Care, if you want it. Optional support from £195 a month, rolling, cancel any time.
What makes this different from an IT company
Most local IT providers sell you somebody else's AI on a per-seat licence and configure it. That is a legitimate business and sometimes it is what you want. We build software and appliances, so the conversation starts from what your work looks like rather than from a product catalogue — and the recommendation is allowed to be do nothing.
What we are not
We are one person in Horsham, not a consultancy with a bench. That has consequences worth knowing before you call: we take on a small number of projects at a time, we will tell you when something is outside what we can support, and everything we build is handed over documented so that somebody else could pick it up. That last part is deliberate. It is what makes it safe to buy from a small supplier.

Questions people actually ask
What does an AI consultant actually do?
In our case: measures where your time goes, works out which of it software could take on, says which parts AI suits and which it does not, and quotes fixed prices for the work worth doing. The measuring comes first. Anyone who arrives with a recommendation before a measurement is selling you a product they already had.
Do you only work with businesses that want AI?
No. A good share of our work has no AI in it at all — it is ordinary business process automation. If simple automation beats AI for your problem, we say so in writing.
Which areas do you cover?
Horsham and the surrounding towns across West Sussex, plus Surrey and the wider South East. See the areas we serve. Most work involves at least one visit, which is why we stay within sensible driving distance.
Are you independent, or do you resell somebody's product?
We build and sell our own appliance, and we will tell you when you do not need it. The audit is deliberately written so it is worth having even if you then hire somebody else, because a report that only ever concludes buy our thing is a sales document.
What size of business do you work with?
Typically five to a hundred staff — owner-managed firms without a full IT department. Below that the numbers rarely justify a build; well above it you are usually buying from someone with a support desk.
What does it cost to start?
The first conversation is a free fifteen minutes and includes being told if there is nothing worth doing. After that, the audit is fixed price. See pricing.
